At Albion, its often called the Gentleman s bath . The Solus Roll Top Bath was the first model to be made by us. Found hiding away in a Colchester reclamation yard, an original Cast Iron bath was spotted. Sitting there, unloved and unwanted, money changed hands and the Albion story begun. Hurriedly put into our van and taken away to our small workshop, we set about making special moulds. Creating a faithful replica of a true Victorian bath was vital. But developing our new Iso-Enamel material to work with the original shape was a challenge.

After numerous trials and a few disasters we had it sorted. Albion was on it s way and the Solus Roll Top Bath was born. To this day, all Albion baths are made using our unique Iso-Enamel material. This combines the benefits of cast iron but without cast iron s drawbacks. These being extreme weight and high heat loss. An Albion bath is strong and rigid. At roughly half the weight of cast iron, an Albion bath will preserve warmth in your bathing water.

Not rest on our laurels, we made a larger size of the Solus roll top bath. This was wider and slightly longer and gave larger gentlemen extra width and more comfort. Both of these models are still made today. These models were made with tap holes. Alternatively, you can order a Solus bath without tap holes and mount Taps on stand pipes or on an adjacent wall. But still with the luxury of stylish bathing.

To customise your new Solus roll top bath, the exterior can be finished in three different systems, choose from any Dulux colour, three choices of metallic burnishing - Bronze, Gold or Iron. Or our new process of Polished Pewter or Aged Copper. How s that for the ultimate in choice.
