BPF19/1612/260 Portland 1-Strip - Engineered European Oak Wood Flooring - UV Oiled - 19x260mm - Character
BPF19/1612/260 Portland is a medium brown engineered European oak floor, installed in a 1-strip pattern. Its engineered construction adds significant stability to the board allowing for natural wood expansion without compromising on the real wood aesthetic.
Hand-processing of the timber creates an aged appearance, and forms the texture and character found upon BPF19/1612/260's surface. Additionally, a reactive smoking of the surface creates deeper, warmer tones in the wood, in which you should expect to see more colour variation. The surface is then pre-finished with a UV cured hard wax oil that offers the advantages of lacquer with the subtlety of oil. This micro-porous, water-repellent surface also offers higher protection from stains.
Designated as 'Character' grade, you should not be surprised to find both heartwood and sapwood featured on the boards of BPF19/1612/260. Knots may be larger, and you should also expect the presence of checks.
Jutland features hand cut bevels along the long edges, adding a depth of visual interest. Hand bevelling is an age-old traditional process which ensure every edge is unique. The boards include a tongue & groove profile and can be either be fully bonded to the subfloor using a suitable adhesive or nailed down.
