The Glass channel is a cast glass formed through computer-controlled furnaces, consistently producing glass of the highest quality and to accurate dimensions. The U-shaped configuration of the glass produces a high structural strength within the channel, allowing it to be installed at high level or in large unit lengths without the need for additional horizontal or vertical support.
Coatings
Standard - Standard glass channels formed with a cast outer surface, which diffuses incoming light, creating a slight green colouring to the glass.
Low iron - as standard cast creating an almost white colouring to the glass
Amethyst - Blue coated glass with a cast outer surface for decorative or coloured finishes.
Clear - Non-coloured glass with no ornamentation to the outer surface, providing greater transparency
Plus - Hard pyrolytic surface coating, low emissivity glass type, producing efficient U-values with a cast outer surface: heat loss and incidence of condensation reduced, optimal thermal insulation
Clear Plus - Low emissivity glass type, producing efficient U-values with no ornamentation to the outer surface
Options in glass type
Specific metal oxide surface coating applied to the internal surface of the glass channels to provide decorative or coloured finishes.
Sandblasting to provide a more translucent finish and diffuse the light across and up and down the glass length.
acrylic coating that gives a coloured tint to the glass (for coloured glass Walls or specific logos) but that still allows light transmission through the glass channels and designs.
Longitudinal, Stainless Steel reinforcing wires incorporated within the body of the glass channels to achieve specific safety and security levels.
Physical Properties
The system offers outstanding performance in high light permeability, exceptional sound and thermal insulation. Depending on Single or double-glazing, light transmission levels are between 69 to 86%.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Lumaglass is consulted before specifying.
